Andrea’s Take

I always knew that something cool would come from the orphaned straps and strap fabric we have been salvaging.

For a while, we have had requests for new black bags and for a smaller backpack and this came together just right. I love how sleek the design is - it’s very modular and gives it such an elevated look and feel. You would never know that this is actually an upcycled piece.

My favorite thing about this piece is the secret exterior pocket. I wanted it to have this very sleek minimalist look, but it would be torturous to have a backpack without an exterior pocket! So Irma from Esperanza and I worked together to make this glorious design wish happen - the outside pocket can’t be seen from the outside, but it is there.

We added the zipper for extra security, but I often just leave mine open. This is such a special piece that uplevels our style, our day out, our community and our planet.

Re:Connect Backpacks are made right here in Colorado by people who have faced barriers to employment and have been given a second chance to build their lives thanks to Mile High Workshop and Esperanza Productions. Your bag will ship to you right from the production line, as soon as it passes QC. Because we are working within the constraints of the upcycled/orphaned fabric we have on-hand, these are only available in limited quantities. They will ship in the order that they are received.
